Why Studying The Bible Without Prayer Won't Work

If the Bible was that simple, the whole world would understand its profound meaning. Unfortunately or fortunately it is not, and this is why those who open the Holy Bible and attempt to obtain its wisdom must ask for the power of understanding via prayer.

This prayer must be genuine and from the heart, in order for it to help open up the meaning of the Bible to the student or person seeking salvation. In fact, if that person is Predestined to be Saved, or in other words chosen by the Lord before the beginning of time, there is no chance that the prayer will not succeed in opening the eyes and soul to receive the message.

Those that are Saved and have been chosen; those that the Lord died for, will find that they will really ask in earnest for the Lord to give understanding of what is soon to be studied. Their hearts and minds will then be receptive to receive the message contained within the Bible. It is a wonderful feeling to fall into this category and cannot be described to those not yet Saved.

Naturally, it does not mean that the entire meaning of the messages and meaning will become immediately clear. But if the person is Saved and persists in beseeching the Lord for help through prayer, much will become clear.

It is not an easy process to study the Bible. The Prayers offered by those readying themselves for studying the Bible must be guided by the Holy Spirit. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit those studying the Bible will not be able to reconcile, seemingly contradictory statements with each other. Naturally, the verses can never be contradictory and only through the opening of the eyes through prayer can the Chosen be able to discern the true meaning of the Word.

It is too bad that people quote the Scripture and pretend to study it without the guidance gained through Prayer. The Prayer's part is also a begging of the Lord to save that person in addition to giving understanding.

Only those who are not Predestined to be Saved state that the Bible is contradictory. Prayer is more than just asking the Lord for material things. It is crying out to be given understanding and salvation.
